about naomi

NAOMI PURKISS BOUTIQUE is an independent, slow fashion brand run by Naomi from her studio in South London

Coming from a background in set and costume design for stage and screen, I've always enjoyed creating garments and working with interesting fabrics. Designing my own range of clothing was an exciting next step!

My mission is to provide limited edition, handmade pieces in rare vintage fabrics to customers who are looking for a more mindful way to shop.  Garments that are unique, comfortable, interesting and effortless that I hope will be cherished for many years. I aim to spread the slow fashion word and offer a unique service to forward thinking, creative customers who care about the environment and wear their values.  Wearing NPB means supporting sustainable slow fashion, zero waste, local and small business.

“I’m drawn to Naomi’s clothes because they’re the very opposite of mass-produced, chainstore, predictable fashion”

Sourcing fabrics is a passion - I often refer to it as ‘treasure hunting’ as high quality vintage prints are increasingly tricky to find. These are fabrics that I discover still on the roll, forgotten about in corners of fabric stores and warehouses around Europe and beyond. My art background draws me to graphic, geometric and abstract prints, which mix well with the contemporary silhouettes of the garments. Also, by sourcing fabrics already in existence, I am avoiding any harmful manufacturing and reducing waste, making them even more precious.

“I’d highly recommend NPB if you are looking for well made clothing in stylish, amazing fabrics and practical styles. And no-one else will be wearing the same”

All garments are designed and handmade by me in London. Customers can buy items in stock or have a custom made piece by choosing a garment, fabric, sleeve type and neckline from the options. NPB customers can be confident that they are wearing limited edition or one-off pieces that cannot be found anywhere else.

"I find her clothes are perfect for wear-to-work then go straight out after. They're structured really well, so are very comfortable but look smart too"

"Just wanted to say thank you so much for the beautiful clothes!  I received them yesterday and I'm in love, planning my next order and telling me friends about you too! Thanks again!"

"My favourite is probably still the first top I bought, it gets lots of compliments whenever I wear it. Although my most recent buy - a floaty black and white kimono - is rivalling it now"
